Here is my transcription of “Hangin’ With The Girls I Know”, a great thumbpicking piece by Thom Bresh, son of the legendary Merle Travis.
It is a wonderful example of Thom Bresh’s style: strong alternating bass, driving Travis picking, playful syncopations, bluesy phrases, and that relaxed but powerful groove inherited from the Merle Travis tradition.
A brilliant piece for anyone interested in country fingerstyle guitar, Travis picking, and the unique musical world of Thom Bresh.
