To celebrate the upcoming 10,000 subscribers on my YouTube channel, I’m starting a project that has been on my mind for a long time: creating a Gypsy Jazz Fakebook.
I’m planning a first version with around 150 to 200 tunes, with a release goal set for early 2027.
At first, each standard will be available as an individual PDF, with both notations and the usual design you already know from my transcriptions. Once everything is completed, I will compile the whole project into:
- one complete PDF in standard notation (treble clef),
- one complete PDF in tablature,
both designed in a classic Real Book / Fake Book style.
There will also be an associated iReal Pro playlist, including all chord charts and song structures when needed.
After this first version is released, the fakebook will continue to evolve over time: I will correct any mistakes and gradually add new tunes.

Will the book have both standard and tab?

The goal is to release the first complete version in early 2027.
During the whole process, each tune will be released as an individual PDF on Patreon with both standard notation and tablature as soon as it’s ready.
Then, once the project is finished, the fakebook will be compiled into two separate full versions:
• one complete book in standard notation (treble clef),
• one complete book in tablature.
So the dual notation is available along the way on Patreon, and at the end you’ll be able to choose the version of the book you prefer.
