Description
Unisono Valse is an emblematic piece by Häns’che Weiss, recorded on the album Das Häns’che Weiss Quintet, released in 1975. Originally, it is a traditionally inspired waltz, reworked and arranged by Häns’che Weiss.
As its name suggests, this waltz is performed by two guitars in unison. However, this unison is never perfectly strict: each guitarist introduces subtle variations, alters certain articulations, and occasionally harmonizes melodic lines. This interpretative richness makes the transcription particularly challenging.
For this score, I therefore had to make editorial choices, selecting the melodic line that stands out the most when listening. The A section remains largely consistent and stable between the two guitars, while it is in the B section that the players take greater freedom. These choices were made in order to offer a version faithful to the spirit of the recording, while remaining coherent and playable as a transcription for a single guitar.
